Voglio darvi uno sprint di positività parlandovi di un progetto artistico che ho scoperto qualche mese fa ormai e che mi appassiona davvero molto.

Uno dei problemi più grandi e ancora poco affrontati sono le megalopoli che crescono a dismisura. Diventano dei luoghi di estraniamento per le persone che ci vivono, per la mancanza di intimità e personalizzazione che ne deriva.

I want to give you a sprint of positivity by telling you about an art project I discovered a few months ago and that I’m very passionate about.

One of the biggest problems and perhaps still not addressed it’s about megacities, dramatically growing. They become places of alienation for the people who live there, for the lack of intimacy and customization that results.

FAVELA PAINTING IL PROGETTO DI HAAS&HAHN

Nel 2005 due artisti tedeschi, Haas&Hahn (Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn) hanno dato vita al loro progetto Favela Painting nelle favelas di Rio de Janeiro.

Da quel momento in poi hanno colorato le favela con murales e disegni con l’obiettivo di comunicare con le persone che abitano in questi quartieri. Ma anche far percepire al mondo esterno l’anima di questi abitanti.

In 2005 two German artists Haas & Hahn (Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn) gave birth to their Favela Painting project in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.

From then they colored the favelas with murals and designs that are intended to communicate with people who live in these neighborhoods. But they also want to make perceive to the outside world the soul of these people.

L’idea è nata mentre gli artisti stavano girando un documentario per conto di MTV; rimasti colpiti dalla positività e dall’orgoglio di queste persone, hanno voluto trovare un modo che potesse comunicare al mondo esterno che nonostante si nasca in condizioni difficili non bisogna mai perdersi d’animo e bisogna combattere.

I primi lavori hanno richiesto molto tempo nella realizzazione e nell’ideazione dei disegni, ma con l’andare del tempo le cose sono migliorate anche grazie alla partecipazione di sempre più persone delle favela stesse.

The idea came while the artists were filming a documentary on behalf of MTV; they were impressed by the positivity and pride of these people so they decided to find a way that could communicate to the outside world that despite being born in difficult conditions you should never lose heart and you have to fight.

The first works have taken a long time in the construction engineering and design drawings, but with the passing of time things have improved also thanks to the participation of more and more people of the same favela.

E’ un progetto utile che ha appassionato fin da subito gli stessi abitanti.

Un nuovo modo per veicolare messaggi che considera le personalità e le esigenze delle persone; quelle che non smettono mai di lottare, nonostante si sentano schiacciate dalla vita.

Si tratta di un lavoro che ha entusiasmato i brasiliani per primi perché gli ha permesso di sentirsi parte di un progetto che teneva conto anche dei loro sogni.

It ‘s a beautiful and useful project, which has intrigued right away the inhabitants. A new way to convey messages that considers people’s personalities and needs; those who never stop fighting, despite being crushed by life.

It is a work that has impressed the Brazilians first because it allowed them to feel part of a project that took into account also their dreams.
