Opere à metà tra la realtà e l’illusione che non ci danno la possibiltà di capire cosa stiamo guardando. Questo l’effetto di François Abélanet.

Anamorfosi: cominciamo la settimana con un parolone che all’apparenza sembra molto complicato.

In realtà si tratta di un fenomeno a cui assistiamo più o meno coscientemente tutti i giorni, quando guardiamo i segnali stradali orizzontali: se prendiamo ad esempio la scritta “stop” questa è leggibile solo quando siamo molto in prossimità. Da lontano risulta praticamente non decifrabile.

Questa è un’anamorfosi: un’immagine così distorta da essere leggibile solo da determinati punti di vista.

Anamorphic: we begin the week with a big word that is apparently very complicated.

In reality it is a phenomenon we are seeing more or less consciously every day, such as when we look at the horizontal road signs: if we take for example the word “stop” this is readable only when we are very close. From a distance it is practically indecipherable.

This is an anamorphosis: a picture so distorted as to be readable only from certain points of view.

La realtà a cui ci siamo abituati non è così definita: tutto dipende dal punto di vista da cui decidiamo di osservare il mondo.

Un globo tutto prato in realtà è un labirinto composto da colline e strade; quella che sembra un invasione di Tir in piazza a Lione in realtà è solo uno splendido disegno.

The reality to which we are accustomed is not so defined: everything depends on the perspective from which we decide to observe the world.

Here’s that a green globe is actually a labyrinth composed of hills and streets; what seems like an invasion of trucks in the square in Lyon’s really just a beautiful design.

Giocando con la geometria, le prospettive, i volumi e col digitale, François incanta piazze e giardini per il divertimento e lo stupore di grandi e piccini. Detiene anche il record mondiale per l’anamorfismo più grande, assegnato dal libro dei Guinness nel 2013 a Lione.

Se avete voglia di vedere una delle sue opere dal vivo allora non potete perdere quella che si terrà a Parigi dal 19 aprile fino al 25 settembre 2016, presso l’Istituto del Mondo Arabo. Intitolata “Giardini d’oriente. Dall’Ahlambra al Taj Mahal” l’esposizione investirà tutti gli spazi interni dell’IMA  e il sagrato, con un giardino effimero di 2000 mq.

Playing with geometry, prospects, volumes and even from digital, François enchants squares and gardens for fun and wonder of children and adults. He also holds the world record for the largest anamorphism assigned by the Guinness Book in 2013 in Lyon.

If you want to see one of his works live then you cannot miss the one to be held in Paris from April the 19th until September the 25th 2016, at the Institute of the Arab World.

Entitled “Gardens of the East. Dall’Ahlambra to the Taj Mahal”  the exposure will invest all the interior spaces of the IAW and the churchyard, with an ephemeral garden of 2000 square meters.
