Imagine to have available a building very small in width, but very high: 2.5 m in width and 11 m in depth. Surely the tightness would be very high and also the instinct to let lose the thing, because in 2.5 m wide which kind of things could we put?

Instead in Tokyo, architects Madoka Aihara and Toshiyuki Yamazaki from study YUUA Architects and Associates gave new life to this space, making it airy and spacious.

High and bright: this house shines like a beacon.
Floating floors, which intersect each other and that do not truly define a first plane by a second.

The building was conceived as an aggregation of small spaces, communicating with each otherIn this way the tight space takes breath and suddenly no longer it seems to be the crushed in a lot so small.

Stairs as three-dimensional sheets, natural materials which create an atmosphere of warmth, light and air in abundance all contribute to making this house a nest.
In every corner there is space to store and exhibit: look at the shelves next to the stairs, minimal yet in the right place at the right time.

Every detail has been carefully studied: the supporting structure, the natural circulation of the light.
